Quick question: do you use the "rinse & repeat" technique with these
shampoos or do you just use them once per day? I've always been
skeptical when labels tell me to R&R as I wonder if it's really
necessary or if they just want me to use twice as much of their
product.

Thanks,
Steve

to my knowledge there is nothing in nizoral which says rinse and repeat.
in fact it mentions that it should be used only twice a week and then once
every two weeks or something like that.

i suggest you use it whenever your hair gets too oily. in between use a
regular (mild) shampoo daily.

My Nizoral bottle says to rinse and repeat. But even the "normal"
shampoos that I use seem to say that, and it's hard to believe that
repeating is always necessary.

I know Nizoral is very popular in this group - I'd love to hear from
others that use it as to whether or not they repeat. I'm also
interested in how long people leave it in, as the back of my Nizoral
bottle doesn't mention anything about leaving it in for a while.

I have been using Nizoral shampoo for the past two years, 2% for the past
year. I typically use it 3-5 times per week, and typically in combination
with Dr. Proctor's NANO shampoo. Typical use: lather with liberal
application of Nizoral 2%, and leave in the hair while I shave (about 3-5
minutes). Rinse, then apply a much smaller amount of Dr. Proctor's NANO
shampoo, which I also leave in for 3-5 minutes.
On alternate days, I do a similar routine with T-Gel shampoo and "Life
Extension" polysorbate 80 shampoo. I do *not* typically use the "rinse and
repeat" routine.

I use Nizoral, T/Gel, and Progaine, along with a couple other 'buffer'
shampoos. Sometimes I might go a week or two w/out using any of the three,
but I always at least use one of those shampoos once every 2 or 3 days. I'm
not balding, nor do I use any hair regrowth treatment. I'm just someone who
looks at the future and wants to maintain his JFK Jr.-like hair.

But to answer your question, no, I never "rinse and repeat", as the
directions advise. I mean, why? They just want you to use more of their
product. I would never wash my hair twice at one time, especially with
Nizoral. That would be nuts.

That is the same thing an old girlfriend told me years ago. In addition to
the infaliable logic you just metioned, she said it's actually bad for your
hair to wash it more than once.
